Consumer.Gov - a resource for consumer information from the federal government.

Federal Communications Commission - comprehensive information relating to the telecommunications industry, with useful tips for consumers of long distance and local telephone service, including information on slamming, cramming and other illegal practices.

Federal Trade Commission - useful consumer-oriented information on the regulation of commerce and industry.

National Fraud Information Center - a wealth of information relating to unfair and fraudulent business practices, including telemarketing fraud, consumer fraud, investment fraud, and fraud against the elderly. The National Fraud Information Center maintains a toll-free Consumer Assistance Service, 1-800-876-7060, to provide consumers with answers to questions about telephone or mail solicitations, information about how and where to report fraud, referral services, and help in filing complaints.

The Better Business Bureau - Consumer and business information on topics such as Scam Alerts and Advisories, Truth and Accuracy in Advertising, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), Charity Monitoring and Donor Education, Consumer and Business Education, and Marketplace Complaints and Inquiries. Lists addresses and phone numbers for BBB offices in the U.S. and Canada.

U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission - a federal regulatory agency charged with keeping American families safe by reducing the risk of injury or death from consumer products. Database of information on unsafe products, and on-line forms for reporting unsafe products.

California Public Utilities Commission - The California PublicUtilities Commission (CPUC) regulatesprivately owned telecommunications, electric, natural gas, water, railroad, rail transit, and passenger transportation companies. The CPUC is responsible for assuring California utility customers have safe, reliable utility service at reasonable rates, protecting utility customers from fraud, and promoting the health of California''s economy.
